La Plazita in the San Leandro…

What do you do when you have an amazing client whose mission and heritage deserves to be celebrated through design but have an extremely challenging site over a parking lot and a very snug budget?…..you paint!

Gleaning shapes, forms and colors from hispanic + latinx inspiration, Dune Hai designed a play yard for La Plazita Preschool. La Plazita is a Spanish-immersion school and an amazing asset for the San Leandro community.

Funded with city dollars shows that San Leandro knows what’s needed: accessible, quality early education (YES PLEASE HELP ANYONE.)

It’s not atypical: we were the only women on the main design and build teams and you best believe we got it done on time and on budget.
The client and children being happy is the reward we craved and got some props from the mayor too.
